Rain forces our first cancellation of the season

Weather…it changes quickly in New england
Jay was fast in practice and very fast in his qualifying event, but the heat and humidity of the day disappeared right before Jay went out for the main event.
Jay was strapping into the race car for the feature event, with the sun and heat still bearing down on the track. As Jay pulled away from his pit stall, the clouds and wind began to circle the track. There was an immediate 20 degree drop in temperature and the sun was gone, a storm was brewing.
With the sun and heat gone, Jay's car did not perform like it did earlier in the day. The car appeared to be very loose. Jay had a very hard time driving the car and it was obvious from the stands. It seemed like every lap, Jay's car was breaking loose, but he was able to save it and continue. With an ill handling car, Jay had a hard time holding his position.
While running in the fourth position, the car in front of him lost control and blocked the track, forcing Jay to hit the breaks. This allowed several other competitors to pass Jay. Jay was able to get a few positions back, but was not able to make up any group on the leaders. Jay finished seventh and brought the car home in one piece. That's rewarding enough after a couple of very bad weeks.
